ANNA, Ill. -- Ruth Aleen Ellis, 75, of Anna died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at her home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1925, at Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of Arvel M. and Wanda House Brothers. She and Merle D. "Joe Pete" Ellis were married Feb. 18, 1950, in Murphysboro, Ill. He died April 12, 1997.
Ellis was retired from the former International Shoe Co. in Anna, where she was a heel attacher and edge trimmer. She was a member of First Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Jennings and Keith Ellis of Anna; a daughter, Rhonda Stadelbacher of Cobden, Ill.; her mother of Murphysboro; two brothers, Lee Brothers of Murphysboro, Wayne Brothers of Granite City, Ill.; a sister, Ina Young of Murphysboro; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gayle D. Stone officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
