Ruth Elizabeth George, 82, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, July 29, 1993, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 1, 1910, in Plymouth, Ill., daughter of Rev. H.M. and Ina Clearwater Ingram. She and Homer George were married Oct. 31, 1930, at Jonesboro, Ill. He died Dec. 9, 1969.
George graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1932. She and her husband founded Broadway Prescription Shop in 1936, which is still operated by her sons.
She was a member of GFWC Quest Club of Missouri, First Baptist Church and its Naomi Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Milton George of Cape Girardeau, Harry George of Jackson; a daughter, Patricia George of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ester Hamlin of Tinley Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. John Owen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
