BENTON, Mo. -- Ruth A. Dodson, 70, of Benton died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 17, 1934, at Blodgett, Mo., daughter of Joseph Charles and Mary E. Ownesby Adams. She and Billy Dodson were married April 23, 1955, at Bloomfield, Mo.
Mrs. Dodson was a 1952 graduate of Blodgett High School. She was a salesclerk 20 years at Sears and Roebuck in Sikeston, Mo., retiring in 1988. She was a former mayor of Blodgett.
She was a member of Blodgett Baptist Church, Scott County Historical Society, and Benton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Billy Dodson of Williamsburg, Va.; two daughters, Vicki LeGrand and Christy Mothershead of Benton; a sister, Laura Pirtle of Payson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Joseph and Thomas Dodson, and Andrew Mothershead.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Mothershead; a brother, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Benton Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Blodgett Cemetery.
