Ruth A. Dillingham, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 28, 1929, in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of Arthur Otto and Ida Suedekum Keller. She and Ray E. Dillingham were married Nov. 23, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills. He preceded her in death April 27, 2008...

Ruth Dillingham

Ruth A. Dillingham, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 28, 1929, in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of Arthur Otto and Ida Suedekum Keller. She and Ray E. Dillingham were married Nov. 23, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills. He preceded her in death April 27, 2008.

Ruth was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near Gordonville. After she and Ray married, they moved to St. Louis where she was employed for 25 years at the International Lutheran Laymen's League as a data entry supervisor. Upon retiring, she and Ray moved to Jackson.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. Ruth enjoyed volunteering her time doing community service at Missouri Veterans Home, blood drives, knitting caps for babies and many other events.

Loving survivors include two sisters, Lois Collins and Bernice "Bunny" Smith of Cape Girardeau, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Ray Dillingham, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Norman Keller; a sister, Kathryn "Katie" Kaufman; and an infant sister, Tessa Louisa Keller.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Lutheran Home or St. Paul Lutheran Church building fund in Jackson.

Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
