Funeral service for Ruth E. Crites of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Dissen will officiate, with burial in Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Crites, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born April 24, 1908, at Wittenberg, daughter of Martin J. and Emma Richter Grebing. She first married Anton G. Heise April 23, 1927, in Cape Girardeau. He died Jan. 10, 1940. She later married Bennett J. Crites Dec. 31, 1943, in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 10, 1994.
Crites had worked at International Shoe Co., and then was cafeteria manager at Central High School, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Junior Ladies Aid.
Survivors include a son, Lee Roy Heise of St. Louis County; two daughters, Geraldine Lorenz of Ballwin, Phyllis Hansen of Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Esther Aufdenberg and Hilda Heise of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
