RUTH COBBS

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Ruth Elizabeth Cobbs, 89, of Mounds died Sunday at the Meridan Manor Nursing Home at Mounds.

She was born Aug. 14, 1910, at Villa Ridge, daughter of Issac and Golda Daniels Essex. Her husband, James R. Cobbs died Feb. 26, 1992. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was also an avid quilter and a retired seamstress.

Survivors include two daughters, Effie Bagbey and Brenda Cobbs, both of Mounds; a son, Jimmie A. Cobbs of Mounds; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shiloh Baptist Church at Villa Ridge.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Larry Miller will officiate, with burial in Shiloh Cemetery.

Jones Funeral Home at Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
