PULASKI, Ill. -- Ruth Louise Chancy, 77, of Pulaski died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Mounds, Ill., daughter of Ralph and Bessie Mize Cruse. She married Lloyd Chancy, who preceded her in death.
Chancy served as an election judge in St. Clair and Pulaski counties many years. She was a member of Pulaski Christian Church and its Ladies Aid, and VFW Auxiliary to Post 2649 in Cairo, Ill.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Chancy of Belleville, Ill., Michael Crown of Mounds; a daughter, Carolyn Choate of Troy, Ill.; two sisters, Rosemary Parker and Ann Rodgers of Greenville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, parents, stepmother, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Pulaski Christian Church from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Bobby Cruse and Wiley Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski.
Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
