Ruth Barnes, 90, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 5, 2017, at Heartland Healthcare in Cape Girardeau. Ruth was born in the Clear Lake Community to George and Jesse Nelson Ralph. She was a retired union representative and a member of Connection Point Church in Jackson. Ruth loved the Lord, her church and reading her Bible every day. She enjoyed cooking and traveling whenever she could. Ruth loved to spend time with her grandson, Carson, and Nemo, her Jack Russell terrier...

Ruth Barnes, 90, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 5, 2017, at Heartland Healthcare in Cape Girardeau.

Ruth was born in the Clear Lake Community to George and Jesse Nelson Ralph.

She was a retired union representative and a member of Connection Point Church in Jackson. Ruth loved the Lord, her church and reading her Bible every day. She enjoyed cooking and traveling whenever she could. Ruth loved to spend time with her grandson, Carson, and Nemo, her Jack Russell terrier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Wayne, Calvin and Harvey Ralph and Ezra Hodge; and three sisters, Georgia Mason, Mary Ralph and Helen Hodge.

Ruth leaves two children, Rodney Barnes (Kimberly) of Jackson and Cynthia Barnes of Denver; and one grandson.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
