Ruth Ann Mayfield, 72, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Millersville died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 5, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Robert George and Maggie Grindstaff Green. She and Lindell Wayne Mayfield were married March 19, 1960. He died May 12, 2013. Ruth graduated from Jackson High School.
She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill, then worked in housekeeping at the former Howard Johnsons in Cape Girardeau and for the Drury Suites.
She is survived by three sons, Danny (Teressa) Mayfield and Kevin (Phyllis) Mayfield, both of Jackson, and Gary Mayfield of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, J.D. Green of Jackson and Dayton Green of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Annie Pruitt of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Green Jr.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
A graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pulliam Cemetery, with the Rev. Donnie Ford officiating.
