Roy Lee "Rusty" Dietiker, 67, of Independence, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1933, in Cape Girardeau County, son of John and Sarah Pippin Dietiker. He and Priscilla Toomey were married Dec. 14, 1958.
Dietiker worked at the Ford Motor Co. Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Mo., 33 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a deacon in the priesthood.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Collin Dietiker of Lees Summit, Mo., Kevin Dietiker of Independence, Christian Dietiker of Blue Springs, Mo.; three brothers, John "Jiggs", Frankie and Mike Dietiker of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Betty Dietiker, Shirley Hutchason and Janet Amelunke of Cape Girardeau, Teresa Elkins of Scott City, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Congregation of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ in Independence.
New Salem Funeral Home in Independence is in charge of arrangements.
