RUSSIA BENNETT

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Russia Pope Bennett of Mobile, Ala., will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Larry Smith will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.

Bennett, 86, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1992, in Mobile.

She was born Feb. 2, 1906, in Mississippi County, daughter of Jim and Lillian Pope Pruett. She first married Otis Zook, who preceded her in death. She later married Raymond Bennett, who also preceded her in death.

The Bennetts moved to Mobile 14 years ago from here, where she and her husband owned and operated Bennett's Cafe many years. She had attended First Church of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Margarette Bush of Mobile; a sister, Lulene Hubbard of Freeburg, Ill.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
