Allen Russell McNeely, 65, of Scott City died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 13, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, son of Guy and Estle Hawkins McNeely. He and Barbara Ann Nesta were married May 18, 1996, at Commerce, Mo.
McNeely was a self-employed plumber, and had also worked at Dakota Service, Mid-South Steel, and as a bartender at Joe's Place. He was a member of Better Community Club at Commerce, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Chris McNeely with the military in Iraq, Ryan McNeely of Cape Girardeau, Mark Zelle of St. Louis, Dustin Zelle of Georgetown, La.; a brother, Lewis McNeely of Fruitland; five sisters, Carrie Darter, Juanita Schwab and Hannah Farrow of Cape Girardeau, Marie Bollinger of Mountain Home, Idaho, Fern Tripp of High Ridge, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
There is no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce. The Rev. David Thompson will officiate.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
