Russell Leimbach

ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Russell J. Leimbach, 58, of Altenburg died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1943, in Altenburg, son of Oswald F. and Flora Lueders Leimbach and stepmother Concordia Lorenz Leimbach.

He and Claudine "Lucy" Wright were married Sept. 17, 1966.

Leimbach was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired maintenance technician with Procter & Gamble. He belonged to American Legion Post 133.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Survivors include two sons, James R. Leimbach of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeffrey L. Leimbach of Altenburg; a brother, Gary Leimbach of Riverbank, Calif.; a sister, Darlene Werner of Jackson, Mo.; and a grandson.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Young & Sons East Perry Chapel, with an American Legion wake at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with Rev. Charles Weber officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military graveside services from American Legion Post 133.
