CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Russell A. McCann, 2501 Janet, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Tim McClard will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance, with the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

McCann, 39 years old, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born May 30, 1951, in Oxford, Ohio, son of Leroy Robert and Betty Bowling McCann. He and the former Sheila Harnes were married Sept. 27, 1986, in Elizabethtown, Ky.

McCann was a truck driver; member of Lynwood Baptist Church and its Sonlight Sunday School Class. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Chad McCann of Lebanon, Ohio; a daughter, Heather McCann of Lebanon; two stepsons, Vincent and Chad Kight of Cape; his father and stepmother, Leroy and Delores McCann of Oxford; a brother, Capt. Leroy R. McCann Jr. of Havelock, N.C.; two sisters, Debbie Morrow and Brenda Donnell of Loveland, Ohio; two stepsisters, Sue Phillips of Oxford, Joyce Heckel of Seven Mile, Ohio, and a stepgrandmother, Sarah Inlow of Cincinnati, Ohio.
