JACKSON, Mo. -- Rusby E. Hartle, 85, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jimmie Corbin will officiate. JACKSON, Mo. -- Rusby E. Hartle, 85, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jimmie Corbin will officiate. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Mr. Hartle was born Nov. 22, 1915, at Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Robert and Clara Seabaugh Hartle. He and Gladys Seabaugh were married Nov. 22, 1937. She preceded him in death Oct. 31, 1990.

He was a 1935 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. Mr. Hartle drove a school bus for Sedgewickville School District prior to moving to Jackson in 1954. He retired from Jackson R-2 School District in 1982 as maintenance supervisor, with 28 years of service.

Mr. Hartle was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church. He was presented the Unsung Hero Award by Jackson Heritage Association in 1999.

Loving survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Lester Maevers of Jackson; three grandsons, Tim (Patty) Maevers and Jim (Debbie) Maevers of Jackson, Kenny (Jane) Maevers of Sedgewickville; seven great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Landon, Trey, Hailey and A.J. Maevers of Jackson, Shayna and Kim Maevers of Sedgewickville; and a great-stepgrandson, Nathan Kennon of Morrisville, N.C.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

In honor of his grandchildren, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul School Building Fund, Jackson High School Scholarship Fund, or New McKendree United Methodist Church Sound System Fund.
