ANNA, Ill. -- Rufus D. Williams, 92, of Anna died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 11, 1908, in Union County, Ill., son of Charlie and Grace Menees Williams. He and Erline Brown were married Nov. 1, 1936.
Williams was produce manager at Goddard's in Anna more than 50 years. He was a member of Odd Fellows Southern Lodge 241, Jonesboro Lodge 111 AF&AM, and Union County Foxhunters Association.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bruce Williams of New Douglas, Ill., Harold and Billy Williams of Anna, Michael Williams of Dongola; two daughters, Patricia Williams of Anna, Sherry Parr of Dongola; a sister, Clairus Mullins of Anna; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
