PERRYVILLE -- Rueben B. Hotop Jr., 30, of Hillsboro, formerly of Perryville, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1992, in a car accident on Interstate 270 in St. Louis County.

He was born Jan. 2, 1962, at Perryville, son of Rueben and Mary Ann Mattingly Hotop of Perryville.

He married Teresa Johnson Sept. 12, 1981. She survives.

Hotop was a carpenter. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of Hillsboro and Carpenters Local 2214, and was an AmVets Booster.

Survivors are his parents; wife; paternal grandmother, Georgia Mattingly, Perryville; a son, Joshua Hotop, and daughters, Kendra and Valerie Hotop, all of the home; brothers, Ronald, Paul, Patrick and Michael Hotop, all of Perryville, and Allen Hotop, Apple Creek; and sisters, Wanda Schremp, Apple Creek, Deborah Richardet and Clarita Hotop, both of Perryville, Doris and Lawana Hotop, both of St. Louis, Sandra Miesner and Diane Mahnken, both of Frohna.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek at 10 a.m. Monday by the Rev. John Boldorson.

A parish wake will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
