RUDOLPH WICHERN

PERRYVILLE -- Rudolph "Rudy" Wichern, 79, of Perryville, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1991, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 21, 1911, at Point Rest, son of Henry and Martha Cornehlsen Wichern. He and the former Esther Hemmann were married Nov. 16, 1936.

Wichern was a farmer, and member of Grace Lutheran Church at Uniontown.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, William Wichern of O'Fallon, Charles Wichern of West Plains, Richard Wichern of Fair Grove; five brothers, Albert Wichern of Uniontown, Alphonse and Wilbert Wichern of Old Appleton, Rueben Wichern of St. Louis, Melvin Wichern of Columbia; three sisters, Flora Etzold of Perryville, Amanda Lacy and Alma Wichern of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Winningham will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today, and until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
