JONESBORO, Ill. -- Rudolph Smiddy, 87, Jonesboro Route 2, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 16, 1907, in Union County, son of William and Nora Miller Smiddy. He and Mary Glidewell were married Aug. 20, 1932, in Jonesboro.
Smiddy was an operating engineer, and member of Jonesboro Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Leon Smiddy of Collinsville; a brother, Charlie Smiddy of Reynoldsville; four sisters, Beulah Frick, Maggie Brown, Theresa Cavaness and Belle Mayberry of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home (Norris and Son) after 4 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Goodbread Cemetery near Gorham.
