ST. MARY, Mo. -- Rudi M. Werner, 79, of St. Mary died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in the Emergency Room at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Mo.
He was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Otto and Frieda Siebert Werner. He and Verna Kassel were married Aug. 10, 1946.
Werner retired as owner of Werner Auto Body and as custodian at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a member and past elder of Immanuel Church, and member of VFW Post 4282.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Hogard of St. Mary; two sons, David and James Werner of St. Mary; a brother, Albert Werner of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; three half brothers, Otto Werner Jr. of Edwardsville, Ill., Ervin and Wilfred Werner of Jackson, Mo.; a half sister, Elvira Engert of Oak Ridge, Mo.; a stepbrother, Joseph Sebastian of Highland, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a half sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5-9 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30-8:30 a.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
