DEXTER -- Ruby Hurley Young, 78, of Dexter died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1919, at Steele, daughter of William S. and Jenny Hensley Holland. She first married Joe Farris Hurley Nov. 24, 1934, at Caruthersville. He died April 19, 1969. She and William Young were married Jan. 15, 1972, at Bernie.
Young moved to Bernie in 1953 from Steele, and had lived at Dexter since 1983.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joe Hurley of Riverside, Calif., William Hurley of Clarksdale, Miss.; three daughters, Barbara Jordan of Campbell, Peggy Young and Tammy Williams of Dexter; a stepdaughter, Karen Sowell of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Jerry Holland of Poplar Bluff; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Revs. Bob Wiggins and Mike Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery at Bernie.
