RUBY RALPH

Ruby Martha Ralph, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.

She was born Oct. 31, 1905, at Whitewater, daughter of August E. and Martha I. Proffer Poinsett. She and John L. Ralph were married July 24, 1926, at Lutesville. He died June 17, 1981.

Ralph lived in Flint, Mich., at Jackson from 1936 to 1953, and in Hammond, Ind. She was a supervisor in a garment factory in Hammond. She held offices in the local union, including president. She retired in 1973 and moved to Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Fort D Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Ralph of Los Altos, Calif., Charles Ralph of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at the chapel Thursday from 1 p.m. to service time.
