Ruby Norma Preusser, 87, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 26, 1936, in Shawneetown, daughter of the late Walter and Olga Thauwald Bodenschatz. She and Norman Preusser were married June 26, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. He preceded her in death Feb. 16, 2011.
Ruby was a 1954 graduate of Jackson High School. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She helped Norman on the dairy farm and worked at Plaza Gifts and Office Supplies for many years.
Loving survivors include her children, Connie (Darrell) Ulrich of Jackson, Anthony "Tony" (Iris) Preusser of Friedheim and Peggy (Doug) Goodson of Blue Eye, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dana Ulrich (fiance, Zach Winter-Staszak) of Gig Harbor, Washington, Matt (Sarah) Preusser of Friedheim, Kara Pieraccini of Cibolo, Texas, Sarah Goodson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Lucas (Courtney Fyke) Goodson of Hendersonville, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Maddie Jo Preusser, Eva, Gabbie Preusser, and Jayde; two sisters, Ruth (the late David) Kasten of Jackson and Edith (the late Michael) Dowell of St. Louis; brother, Glenn (Sharon) Bodenschatz of Oak Ridge; sister-in-law, Marion (the late Nelson) Preusser of Shawneetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Katt and infant brother Richard Bodenschatz.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the church, with the Rev. Virgil Kelm officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Saxony High School or Lutheran Home Hospice.
