EAST PRAIRIE -- Graveside service for Ruby Pearl Hopgood of Collierville, Tenn., will be held at 2 p.m. today at East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Lathum will officiate.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Hopgood, 93, died Thursday, March 31, 1994, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
She was born Nov. 20, 1900, near East Prairie, daughter of James and Ella Sheeks Moriarty. She and Alphia S. Hopgood were married July 4, 1920. He died Feb. 24, 1955.
Hopgood lived in this area most of her life, and taught in rural schools. She was a member of Nelson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Alan Hopgood of Paris Landing, Tenn.; a daughter, Norma Carr of Memphis; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
