DEXTER, Mo. -- Ruby Kitrel, 92, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Beverly Health and Rehab Center in Dexter.
She was born in Malden, Mo., April 9, 1912, daughter of John E. and Minnie Ola Roots Shelton.
She was married to Ruben R. Kitrel on Oct. 13, 1929, in Malden. He died on Oct. 28, 1991.
She lived in St. Louis, from 1936 to 1963, then moving to Dexter and lived two years before moving to Bloomfield, Mo., before entering the nursing home in 1999. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include two brothers, Russell Shelton of Cape Girardeau, David Shelton of Dexter, and John Shelton of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Rosie Allen of Aid, Mo., and Agnes Blake of Malden; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, eight brothers and two sisters.
Friends may from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
