GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Ruby Jane Cutler, 81, of Carbondale, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1993, in Rapid City, S.D.
She was born Dec. 2, 1912, in Grand Chain, daughter of James Wesley and Edna Ann Presgrove Ablett. She and Homer Claude Cutler were married Dec. 13, 1931, in Murphysboro.
Cutler was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. She was a teacher at schools in Pulaski, Williamson and Jackson counties, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem in Carbondale; Retired Teachers Organization, and charter member of Order of the Amaranth in Herrin.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Wiggins of Las Vegas, Nev., Marilyn Hisgen of Rapid City; a son, Darrel Cutler of Centralia; a sister, Ruth Moore of Grand Chain; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Carbondale, with burial in Oakland Cemetery there.
