RUBY GRAY

SIKESTON -- Ruby S. Gray, 74, of Sikeston died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Agra, Okla., daughter of David C. and Leona E. Smith Chesmore. She and Derris M. Gray were married April 12, 1942, at Poe. He died Sept. 8, 1998...

SIKESTON -- Ruby S. Gray, 74, of Sikeston died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Agra, Okla., daughter of David C. and Leona E. Smith Chesmore. She and Derris M. Gray were married April 12, 1942, at Poe. He died Sept. 8, 1998.

Gray was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church, its Women's Missionary Society, Ladies Aid and Ladies Quilting Circle. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3174.

Survivors include two daughters, Vanita Wilburn and Shelley Gray of Sikeston; three brothers, William Chesmore of Sultana, Calif., Clifford Chesmore of Perkins, Okla., Charles Chesmore of Sikeston; and two granddaughters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
