Ruby Goforth, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Jackson Manor.
She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Crump, Mo., to the late George W. and Rosa A. Haynes Bowman.
Ruby attended Lynwood Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary for 20 years. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and dancing. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruby C. (Jerry) Smith of Cape Girardeau; son, Ralph W. (Mary) Goforth of Simpson, La.; former daughter-in-law, Joy (Lee) Martin of Decatur, Ill.; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Richard) Keser, Michael (Linda) Smith, Shelley Smith Mathes, Terry Wayne (Heather) Goforth, Ryan (Justine) Goforth and Cindy (Eric) Newingham; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Goforth; four brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
