Ruby Anita Doughty, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Louis E.T. and Ella Haertling Graden. She and Thomas O. Doughty were married Jan. 1, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. He died June 9, 1993.
Doughty was a salesclerk at J.C. Penney in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a brother, Victor Graden of Bettendorf, Iowa; three sisters, Helen Strack of San Diego, Ruth Daume of Perryville, Mo., and Esther Morie of Scott City.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and five sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
