SIKESTON -- Ruby L. Chapman, 79, of Sikeston, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner. She was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of A.V. and Maude Lee Wolfe Mills. She and William Eugene Chapman were married Aug. 9, 1945, at Vanduser. He died June 4, 1975...

SIKESTON -- Ruby L. Chapman, 79, of Sikeston, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.

She was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of A.V. and Maude Lee Wolfe Mills. She and William Eugene Chapman were married Aug. 9, 1945, at Vanduser. He died June 4, 1975.

Chapman was a member of Tanner Street Church of God.

Survivors include a son, Derrell Chapman of Sikeston; a brother, William A. "Dutch" Mills of Sikeston; three sisters, Louise Monroe of Gilbertsville, Ky., Mildred Phegley of Dexter, Maxine Thurston of Sikeston, and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Lee Fansler and Carl Addison officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
