PATTON, Mo. -- Ruby Irene Brotherton, 96, of Patton passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at her home.
She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Lutesville, Missouri, daughter of Charles Edward and Emma E. Patton Douglas. She and Kelly Brotherton were united in marriage Dec. 4, 1943, and he passed away April 18, 2002.
Ruby worked as a sewer for the Angelica garment factory and the International Shoe factory. She was a member of Happy Old People and Post Oak United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Ronnie L. and Rockie Brotherton, both of Patton; sister, Mildred Long of Sedgewickville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Brotherton; parents; sons, Lonnie D. and Johnnie A. Brotherton; brothers, Paul, Gene, Clarence, Oda, Rob, Charles and Willy Douglas; and sisters, Eula Besher, Delphia Brown, Beulah Marx and Annie and Gracie Douglas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Terry Douglas and Otis Long officiating. Burial will be in Post Oak Cemetery near Patton.
