RUBY BARKS

Ruby Aria Barks, 92, of Cape Girardeau died July 3, 1995, at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1903, at Alliance, Mo., daughter of Ben and Alvenia Kuhlman Johnson. She and John L. Barks were married April 13, 1922, at Perryville. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1976.

Barks was a homemaker for most of her life. She was also a member of the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church. She lived in Cape Girardeau for 54 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Violet Bollinger and Pansy Strack, both of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lloyd Johnson of Patton; three sisters, Beulah Propst of Perryville, Ione Barks of Sedgewickville and Zolla Dolle of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert J. Daniel will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
