PERCY, Ill. -- Memorial service for Royal Wayne Jacobs of Percy will be held at 1 p.m. today at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The Rev. Steve Wilkinson will officiate, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.

He married the former Elsa Mae Black.

Jacobs was a longtime resident and former mayor of Dupo. He was a switchman 37 years with Missouri Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge 474, United Transportation Union, and Randolph County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Misselhorn of Campbell Hill, Melissa Stoneman of St. Louis; a son, David Jacobs of Cahokia; two brothers, three sisters, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, infant granddaughter, four sisters and a brother.
