ANNA, Ill. -- Roy Norman "Red" Tompkins, 76, of Unionville, Tenn., died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born June 25, 1927, in Anna, son of Roy and Katheryn Cook Tompkins. He and Edith Keller were married in 1962.
Tompkins was a supervisor 27 years with Illinois Department of Corrections. He was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church and Anna Lodge 520 AF&AM.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin Tompkins of Unionville; a daughter, Karla Reynolds of Cooper City, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday until time of service.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
