CHARLESTON -- Roy T. Brown, 66, of Charleston died Monday, May 6, 1991, north of Charleston on County Road 218 of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Feb. 15, 1925 in Diehlstadt, son of Walter Fred and Beulah Lurene Moore Brown, and lived in Charleston most of his life.
He was self-employed in sanitation service and attended the Southside Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
On July 24, 1954, he married Allie Inez Dillie. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mary Inez Smith, Catherine Ann Rosson, and LaVonda Jean Payne, all of Charleston, Edith Mae Boyd, Hallville; three stepsons, James E. Bradley and William Bradley, both of Charleston, Danny Bradley, East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; one sister, Mary Hayes, Charleston; 27 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers and two half-brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dolan Rogers, interim pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military rites.
