Roy Lee Reeves, 84, of Fruitland died Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Illmo to Luther L. and Martha Marie Davis Reeves. He married Jo Ann Williams on July 23, 1955. She preceded him in death June 18, 2003. Roy was the owner/operator of Reeves Painting Company in Jackson. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Fruitland. Roy was known by all to be a good and kind man, who never knew a stranger. He loved God, and he loved his family...

Roy Lee Reeves, 84, of Fruitland died Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at his home.

He was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Illmo to Luther L. and Martha Marie Davis Reeves. He married Jo Ann Williams on July 23, 1955. She preceded him in death June 18, 2003.

Roy was the owner/operator of Reeves Painting Company in Jackson. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Fruitland. Roy was known by all to be a good and kind man, who never knew a stranger. He loved God, and he loved his family.

He is survived by his children, Kim Miller of Fruitland, Teresa (Mike) Ruppel of Jackson, Christina (Kyle) Brost of Cape Girardeau, Robin Reeves of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Roy (Karen) Reeves II of Oak Ridge; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Roy was also preceded in death by four brothers, Dorris, Dale, Don and Luther Ray Reeves, and two sisters, Zelma Reeves and Reva Maxine Hamm.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Sept. 11 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 at the chapel with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
