Roy Gillis Muir, 73, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 13, 1943, in Owosso, Michigan, son of Glenn and Pauline Gibson Muir. He and Marilyn E. Schultz were married in 2006 and she survives.
Roy was employed 15 years for the Terminal Railroad Association in St. Louis and 20 years for Venice Liquor in Venice, Illinois.
Loving survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Jackson; three sons, Adam and J.R. Muir, both of Gillespie, Illinois, and Mark Schultz of Jackson; four daughters, Ruth Peterson of Gillespie, Samantha Hodsed of Georgia, Isabelle Charhonneau of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Cindy McGuire of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ina Schuessler of Madison, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Ina Muir, Billie Hansel and Cheryl Warner; a brother; and a sister.
There are no services.
