EAST PRAIRIE -- Roy Lee Johnson, 58, of East Prairie died Friday, Dec. 8, 1995 at his home.
He was born May 27, 1937 in Anniston, son of Alma Dyer Johnson of East Prairie and the late Luther Johnson.
He lived all his life in Mississippi County, where he was employed by Dale Tatum Construction of Charleston. He was a member of the East Prairie Eagles Club.
On March 18, 1978, he married Glenda Faye Brown. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Trina Jackson of Mexia, Texas; three stepdaughters, Kathy Rouse of Carol Stream, Ill., Tammy White of Franklin, Ill., and Debbie Vinson of Virden, Ill.; a stepson, Robert Emery of Modesto, Ill.; five brothers, Jerry, Jimmy, Wayne and Larry Johnson of East Prairie, and Ricky Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Bard of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Carolyn Scott of East Prairie and Shirley Brown of Charleston; two grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Visitation was Saturday.
