MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Roy L. Walls, 83, of Urbandale, formerly of Mound City, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Mound City, son of Charlie and Kitty Clyde Rothman Walls. He and Edyth Holdman were married; she survives.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Other survivors include two daughters, Janet McBee and Barbara Sue Franklin, both of Urbandale; two sons, Buddy Walls of Mounds, Ill., and Jerry Walls of Urbandale; two sisters, Bertha Hinman of Mound City and LaWanda Beasley of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Carl Walls of Whittier, Calif.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery.
