DEXTER, Mo. -- Robert Leroy "Roy" Hale, 67, of Dexter and formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Woodruff County, Ark., son of Duncan and Mary Myrtle Bailey Hale. He and Phyllis Stenger were married Aug. 20, 1956.
He had lived in Dexter for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club and was a retired boilermaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Hale, Karen Horst of Crown Point, Ind., and Kathy Redar of Winfield, Ill; a stepson, Jeff Fyke of Dexter; five brothers, Tom and Donnie Hale of East Prairie, Harold Hale of Brownwood, Mo., Marion Hale of Wappapello, Mo., and Frankie Hale of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Margaret Bailey of Fairdealing, Mo., and Martha Richmond of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
