SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Roy Everett Hale of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to service time.

Hale, 71, died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 4, 1924, in Commerce, son of James Frank and Leva Ellen Wright Hale. He and Ruth Lee Miller were married Sept. 14, 1943.

Hale was a partner in Hale Brothers Logging Co., and had worked for Upper Mississippi Towing Co.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roy Hale of Scott City, Richard Hale of Buffalo, Ky.; three daughters, Joyce Roth, Ginnell Hackler and Gail Wilkinson of Scott City; a brother, Gene Hale of Scott City; three sisters, Anna Pyle of Cape Girardeau, Pearl Hill of Herrin, Ill., Goldia Lindemann of Scott City; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.
