Roy L. Griffith, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born June 1, 1935, in Chester, Illinois, to Louis Albert and Flora Lohman Griffith.

He and Nell Nall were married Nov. 12, 1955, at Advance, Missouri. She preceded him in death Feb. 23, 2008.

Roy was a graduate of St. Mary's High School.

He served in the Naval Reserve Seabees.

He retired from Wetterau, where he was a warehouse worker.

He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.

Roy liked to fish and hunt. He was good with his hands and enjoyed woodworking. He loved dogs.

Survivors include two sons, Scott D. (Debi) Griffith of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jim Griffith of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Kathy (Steve Ballew) Raines of Cape Girardeau; sister, Ann Desmarais of Manchester, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Lena (John), Hilary (Tyler) and Katie; and a great-grandchild, Ben.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Paul Griffith.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
