ANNA, Ill. -- The funeral for Roy A. Goddard of Anna will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Revs. Scott Harner and Paul Sadler will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery at Lick Creek, Ill.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and Thursday until service time.

Goddard, 86, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Skaggs Community Health Care Center in Branson, Mo.

He was born April 10, 1916, in Union County, son of Ernest and Stella Mull Goddard. He and Naomi Williams were married Dec. 24, 1938, in Cape Girardeau.

Goddard had farmed and was a truck driver with Union County Highway Department until retiring in 1976. He was a charter member of Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna, and member of Union Masonic Lodge 627 AF&AM at Lick Creek.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald Goddard of Marion, Ill.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
