Whitlock, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1993, at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.

He was born Feb. 3, 1902, at Cisne, son of Leaton C. and Cora Towsley Whitlock. He and the former Ethel M. Foster were married June 25, 1924. She died Oct. 8, 1983.
Whitlock was a retired farmer, and member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, William Whitlock of Sikeston, Mo.; four sisters, Virginia Deem of Jeff, Mary Powell and Ruth Richardson of Cisne, Thelma Miller of St. Louis, Mo., and two grandchildren.
