EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Funeral for Roxie Lee DeField of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The Rev. Jerry Willer will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston, Mo.
DeField, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1910, in Mississippi County, daughter of Robert Kindred and Myrtle Hasty Majors. She and Webb Kenneth DeField were married Dec. 16, 1930. He died Dec. 31, 1983.
A lifelong resident of Mississippi County, she was a teacher at Dogwood, Dorena Yellow Dog and East Prairie R-2 Schools. She was a member of Nelson United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge in Charleston, and the Women's Improvement Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Malone and Peggy Sadler of Sikeston, Mo.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, a great-stepgrandson, a brother and two sisters.
