SIKESTON -- Roxada Ruth Beezley, 89, formerly of Sikeston, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Miner Nursing Center.
She was born May 17, 1904, in Ft. Smith, Ark., daughter of Fleetwood and Ollie Arnold Simpson. She married Lee Reece, who preceded her in death. She later married Roy Beezley in 1961, who died in 1976.
Beezley was a member of Calvary Temple.
Survivors include three sons, Ernest Reece of Poplar Bluff, Gerald Reece of Tucson, Ariz., James Reece of Sikeston; four daughters, Ruth Catlett of Sikeston, Wilma Moore of Memphis, Tenn., Wanda Arevalo of Columbus, Ohio, Ellen Dunnigan of Fowler, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Sledge of Senath; three brothers, Allison Simpson of Redding, Calif., Oscar and James Simpson of McAlester, Okla.; three sisters, Lucille Cooper of Manteca, Calif., Alice Ortega and Ione Walker of Watsonville, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a stepson and four brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dan Stoffel officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
