Thomas Ross Poteete Jr., 58, 2044 Broadway, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at his home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Franklin, Tenn., son of Thomas Ross and Willie Mai Anderson Poteete Sr. He and Linda Donmyer were married Dec. 30, 1975, in Springfield, Tenn.
A self-employed plumber, Poteete was owner of Cape Plumbing Co. more than 10 years. He also opened Ross's Place in 1988 on Broadway. Prior to coming to Cape Girardeau he owned a plumbing business more than 20 years in Nashville, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas and Kevin Poteete of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Rebecca Wolsey of Cape Girardeau; a brother, German Poteete of Springfield, Tenn.; eight sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret Poteete, Lynia Davis and Mary Toungette, all of Nashville, Ethel Johnson of Dickson, Tenn.; Betty Jones of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Grace Morris of Hendersonville, Tenn., Virginia Jones of Callahan, Fla., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
