Rosemary Margaret Gambill, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at her home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Portage, Wisconsin, to Frederick and Mary Ellen Calvin Kruger. She and Joseph Francis Gambill were married Oct. 8, 1949, at La Crosse, Wisconsin.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Saint Francis Auxiliary. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and kept close contact with her many friends throughout the years with correspondence. She said three rosaries every day and regularly donated blood. She loved animals, especially dogs; dancing; and the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Francis Gambill of Cape Girardeau; a son, Joseph Frederick (Kim Sims) Gambill of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Rose Ann Riesdorph of Jackson, Meg (Ethan) Chamberlain of Cincinnati and Kathleen (Rick) Sebby of Cape Girardeau; a son-in-law, Dennis Wessel of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Susan Wessel.
A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Francis Medical Center or Notre Dame Regional High School.
