Rosemary Dacus, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at her home.

She was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of August and Frances Recker. She and Doyle Dacus were married June 6, 1942. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1972.

Survivors include three sons, Bob (Glenda) Dacus of Sikeston, Mo., Bill (Sally) Dacus of Cape Girardeau, Brad (Suzanne) Dacus of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Betty (Donald) Dry of Cape Girardeau and Brenda (John) Pfefferkorn of Jackson.

Also 12 grandchildren, Teresa Blankenship, Jeff Dacus, Kevin Dry, Johnny Pfefferkorn, Tripp Dacus, Luke Dry, Bradley Dacus, Jamie Pfefferkorn, Mitchell Dacus, Kim Pesce, Josh Clayton, Tiffany Holmes; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tillie Boswell and Joan Eggiman of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, five sisters and a great-granddaughter, Haley Dacus.

Rosemary was a bookkeeper 25 years at Electric Supply Co. of Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and its Women's Council and member and past officer of Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program and Red Cross.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Dave Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff, Tripp, Bradley and Mitchell Dacus, Kevin and Luke Dry, Josh Clayton and Johnny Pfefferkorn.
