CAIRO, Ill. -- Rose M. Lewis, 92, of Cairo died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Sept. 30, 1905, in Cairo, daughter of Sam and Debley John Khory. She married Ned Lewis, who preceded her in death in 1990.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis and his brother, Charles, owned and operated Lewis Brothers Grocery in Cairo for many years. She was a member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, and of Queen Hester M Chapter 219 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Baugher of Chicago, Loretta Pedott of Stamford, Conn., Ellen Miller of Highland Park, Nancy Ball of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Robert Lewis of Winnetka; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 4-8 p.m. today. The rosary and parish prayers will be recited at 6 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Redeemer, with the Rev. Arnold Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.
